I was first licensed as a Novice in 1962 with call sign WN6AYK. In 1963, I upgraded to General Class and received call sign WB6AYK. During my college days, I was busy with my math and engineering studies at Cal Poly Pomona and inadvertently let my Ham license expire. After moving to Colorado in 1972, I renewed my interest and was licensed again as WB0WNU. When the FCC initiated Incentive Licensing and Extra Class licensees could choose their call sign, I requested W0YK and has held it ever since.
